Pierre Cutellic
Dr. Sc. ETH, Principal Investigator (2021 - Present)
Pierre is a postdoc researcher in modelling technologies for architecture, a trained architect and designer. He obtained his PhD in 2021 after a fellowship at the Chair of Digital Architectonics, Insitute of Technology for Architecture, ETH Zürich since 2016. His research focuses on vision-based BCI integrations, for decision-tasks and learning automation of architectural modelling and design methods. Pierre graduated summa cum laude in Architecture from E.N.S.A. Paris-Malaquais in 2007. From 2010 to 2015, he was teaching as Adjunct-Assistant Professor in digital knowledge and practices, integrative design and production, human computation and algorithmics at the Digital Knowledge Dept. of Paris-Malaquais. Prior to joining ETH, Pierre was a lecturer at the CNPA Laboratory of EPF Lausanne since 2014.

Neuramod Project Has Begun!
The Neuramod project, funded by SNSF Div 1-3, has officially started. Hosted at the Chair of Digital Architectonics (Prof. Dr. Hovestadt, fka. CAAD) within the Institute of Technology for Architecture (ITA) and the Department of Architecture (D-ARCH) of ETH Zürich, the project will run from 2021 to 2024.
The proposed research aims at assessing a new architectural modelling approach involving both human and artificial intelligences to decode and encode meaningful architectonic articulations from generated visuo-semantic tokens and neural responses as a next generation of grammar-less modelling methods, and based on information-communication technology and cognitive sciences paradigms. By the use of multimodal, gaze-dependent brain-computer interfaces, it will progressively elaborate a technical infrastructure for human-Machine-interaction, to allow for producing and evaluating visuo-spatial and physical experiments, and to finally reflect upon a synthetic and theoretical framework for the application of such methods.
